17. Eggshells As Fertilizer
Breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and don’t forget to share with your plants! Skip the donuts, French toast and mimosas for the garden though. Rich soil is key for a healthy, lush garden. One way to enhance the nutrients in the soil is to add some egg shells. The shells will increase the calcium content of the soil. They are also great for deterring pests like snails and slugs. After your next omelet, simply bag up those shells, crunch them up and sprinkle them over the soil. You can repeat this as often as you like.
